Office of the Dean

The Dean of the College of Health Science holds academic and administrative oversight of the undergraduate BSN programs, as well as the graduate physician assistant program.

Delecia Parker, DNP, MSN, RN

Delecia Parker, DNP, was named Interim Dean of the College of Health Sciences at °®¶¹´«Ã½ in May 2025. She provides academic and administrative oversight for the College’s undergraduate and graduate programs, including the Department of Nursing and the Physician Assistant program.

Dr. Parker has served at °®¶¹´«Ã½ since 2011, beginning as Faculty in the Department of Nursing and promoted to Professor in 2025. She was appointed Director of the Department of Nursing in 2022, where she provided leadership for curriculum development, faculty mentoring, and program administration. She has taught a wide range of nursing courses, including Fundamentals in Nursing, Complex Illness in Adults I, Nursing Care of Children and Adolescents, and Leadership and Management in Nursing.

Dr. Parker earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Executive Leadership from Union University in 2020, a Master of Science in Nursing Education from Florida State University in 2010, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida State University in 2007. She also holds Associate degrees in Nursing and Arts from Pensacola Junior College and began her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

A member of Sigma Theta Tau, the Nursing Honor Society, and the American Nurses Association/Tennessee Nurses Association, Dr. Parker has actively served on departmental and university committees, contributing to the advancement of academic and clinical programs.
